Over the course the years, we received many general inquires and questions from customers, plumbers and dealers, and would like to share the common questions with you, so that you can have a more pleasant experience with our products.

1. Question: What is the noise level of your machine?
Answer: in most cases, when operating unloaded, a Unistone disposer has a noise level below 50db. However, such statistics is insignificant as the actual noise of the operation depends on what kind of food waste and what level of payload the grinding chamber is loaded.

2. Question: How long does it take to complete a grinding job?
Answer: in most cases, a grinding job is done in less than 2 minutes.

3. Question: the disposer leaks. What happened?
Answer: check whether the mounting is installed tightly. Each machine is tested for leakage prior to leaving the assembly line, and in most cases, leakages are caused by installations that are loose, or with uneven surface contacts.

4. Question: I dropped my fork into the disposer, what should I do?
Answer: turn off the machine; unplug the electricity. You can then take out the fork. Chances are that a dropped fork will trigger the surge protector to stop the machine. If this is the case, you should press the red button on the surge protector to re-start the machine after reconnecting the power.

5. Question: how do I clean the disposer?
Answer: drop a few ice cubes into the disposer, and operate it for 1 minute.

6. Questions: How do I install a disposer?
Answer: While the Installation Manual is included in the Unistone Food Waste Disposer package, we recommend that you ask a plumbing professional to install the Unistone Food Waste Disposer for you. The following are steps to install a Unistone disposer:

a. Fix sink flange assembly to sink body;
b. Attach drain elbow to disposer;
c. Attach disposer body to sink flange assembly;

- Disposer can not be operating for an abnormally long time. When daily operation is finished, turn off the power switch.
- When attempting to loosen a jam in a waste disposer, turn off the power and unplug electricity, then use a disposer wrench.
- To reduce risk of injury by materials that may be expelled by a waste disposer, do not put the following into a disposer:

  • Clam or oyster shells
  • Caustic drain cleaners or similar products
  • Glass, china or plastic
